This project was conducted by TNW+ with facilitation from SIPAA/Action AIDS/TACAIDS and was based in Arusha. Its primary objective was to empower 100 HIV positive women on developing strategic plan for their groups.
This project was funded by TIDES foundation . Primary objective was to empower TOTs of Manyara district in Arusha and women groups in Litembo hospital Mbinga district in Ruvuma with knowledge and skills on proper use of ARV and adherence to treatment train.
This was 12 months project funded by GFTAM . Primary objective was to increase the number of VCT centers and TB treatment access to rural and urban Iringa region. TNW+ in collaboration with CHACS in the respective target areas sensitized PLHA on treatment and encourages them to access the service at CTCs
The project reached 11,000 secondary school Youth and out of school Youth in seven districts of Shinyanga – Rural and Urban, Tabora – Municipal, Sikonge, Urambo , Nzega, Simiyu – Maswa training them on sexual and reproductive health, behavior change and life skills.
Target groups: PLHIV, CSW, MSM, Lesbian and deaf people Areas of the project: 3 slums of Dar es Salaam – Manzese, Kiwalani and Tandale Aim: Promoting the improvement of access of prevention treatment and care services to people affected by HIV and AIDS especially the deaf, CSW, MSM and Lesbian.
This project targeted Women and Girls in three wards of Ilala district in Dar-Es-Salaam region. Its primary objective was to impart lobbying and advocacy skills to WLWHA and GLWHA on looking for their rights. TNW+ received fund implement this six month project from the Foundation for Civil Society.
The project aimed in building capacities of key and vulnerable populations in Tanzania with respect to Men having sex with men, female sex workers and drug users to align themselves with government regulations focusing on health and reproductive approaches in accessing health services in different areas across the country.
The project aimed:
1. To strengthen capacity of key population to advocate for additional resources from global fund, Municipal Councils and other funding platforms to address the Sexual reproductive health rights, Hepatitis B and C, HIV/TB care, treatment and prevention gaps by 31st December, 2016.
2. To support key population to analyse and track the Global fund, PEPFAR resources, National Sexual reproductive health, Hepatitis B and C, HIV/TB budget and advocate the allocation of resources at national decision making platform.
The Project aimed at building on a highly-successful, pre-existing ad-hoc coalition of organizations based in sub-Saharan Africa with specific deep-dive investments and innovations in Malawi, Tanzania and Zimbabwe across four key cross-cutting areas:
● Building power and influence via Africa-focused civil society coalitions
● Using data, information and analytics to advocate for truly comprehensive, effective programs that lead to epidemic control.
● Defining issues and ambitious change agendas: Differentiated service delivery, combination prevention, human resources for health, SRHR, key populations and more
● Strategic innovation: Advancing ambitious advocacy agendas via “business unusual”
TNW+ in collaboration with TANPUD after experience vulnerability of its members who are using and injecting drugs and living with HIV. People living with HIV are facing difficult in monitoring their treatment due to very few viral load testing machines that are available in the country. At the same time people who inject and using drugs are facing challenges in accessing friendly HIV treatment at government health facilities due to the altitude of health workers and stigma associated with drug use. TNW+ and TANPUD jointly, will address the challenges and ensure that PLHIV and PWIUD have opportunity to access friendly services at their locality or place of their choice.
